CAI Arts Volunteers
(Beijing, China)
CAI (才) is a leading volunteer-based,
non-profit organization working to improve the lives of migrant children in
China. We use the power of arts and sports to foster CAI’s four C’s of confidence, courage,
commitment, and care among underprivileged migrant children. For more details, please visit

CAI is looking for energetic and dedicated arts volunteers with a love for arts and a heart for the
underprivileged to join the
team of volunteer teachers for the 2010 Arts
Program of spring semester
in Beijing.
Volunteer time: 1pm
to 3pm every Saturday from March 27 to June 26 (or other specified time)
Location: Various migrant schools (Schools are all located outside at Fifth Ring, you should
estimate 1-1.5 hours of travel time each way to the school.)
Volunteer positions below are for one migrant school:
Team leader (1
person)
Responsibilities: Organize
team to discuss curriculum plan; Organize and coordinate character development
games; Supervise journal entries and facilitate discussion; Provide student and
volunteer feedback to the program officer; Communicate with teachers in migrant
school to ensure program runs effectively.
Requirements:
1)
Strong sense of responsibility and dedication;
2)
Bilingual - Mandarin, English;
3)
Leadership skills and team work;
4)
Strong communication skills;
5)
Readiness
to tackle challenges.
Teachers (3-4
persons)
Responsibilities: Teach 20~25 students different arts;
Implement CAI’s curriculum; Provide student and volunteer feedback; Share
teaching experiences with other volunteer groups; Work with other volunteers to
improve teaching methods.
Requirements:
1)
Have a strong sense of responsibility and dedication;
2)
Have a background in arts and have ability to
create curriculum plan;
3)
Team player;
4)
Strong communication skills;
Teaching assistant (1 person)
Responsibilities:
Assist as translator for volunteer teachers who are not bilingual; Assist in
maintaining order in classroom; Provide assistance to team leader as needed.
Requirements:
1)
Strong sense of responsibility and dedication;
2)
Bilingual - Mandarin, English;
3)
Strong communication skills.

Eligible applicants
will be invited for an interview. Qualified volunteers will be required to attend a training session before joining
the program. Interviews will be held from March 1st
to March 10th. Training will take place between March 13 and March
