Volunteer Coordinator Print E-mail

CAI is looking for two enthusiastic and personable individuals to work as volunteer coordinators in Beijing or Shanghai. 

 

Duties include: 

1. Working closely with the Program Officer;

2. Recruiting volunteers including through universities, publications, online advertisements and word of mouth;

3. Interviewing volunteers and assessing a volunteer’s qualifications and references;

4. Assigning tasks and responsibilities to volunteers, such as identifying supervisors for each partner migrant school;

5. Distributing Volunteer Handbook and collecting and filing Program Officer Volunteer Agreements;

6. Organizing and coordinating volunteer orientation and training;

7. Managing volunteer database and maintaining updated volunteers’ time log, reports and awards;

8. Monitoring, assessing and evaluating volunteers; and providing ongoing support for volunteers.

 

Preferred skills and knowledge:

  * Strong communication skills, written and presentation 

  * Experience in teaching or working with youths 

  * Leadership skills 

  * Bilingual - Mandarin, English 

  * Enthusiastic and outgoing

  * IT skills

  * Patient and outgoing 


Qualifications: 

Eligible candidates include adults over 18 years old with some experience working with volunteers and interest in non-profit administration. CAI may request references to be provided. 


Time Commitment: 

Two or three days each week from 9am-6pm for at least one semester.
